Maha Shivaratri

March 8

Maha Shivaratri will be celebrated on Friday, March 8 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Please join the auspicious occasion with families and friends. You may bring small quantities of milk, flowers and fruits for abhishekam and offerings.

The Temple will be open from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm.

Program for the Evening

4:00 pm           Ganesh Prarthana

4:10 pm           Bhajans and Devotional Songs

6:30 pm           Samkalpam

6:40 pm           Rudra Abhishekam in the main Shiva shrine by the priests

Chanting of Rudram by the Devotees

7:30 pm           Shiva Puja, Ashtothara Shatha Namavali, Manthra Pushpam

8:00 pm           Aarti (Jaya Shiva Omkara and Jaya Jagadeesha Hare)

If you wish to sing a bhajan or a devotional song, please send a reply email in advance to make sure every one gets the opportunity to sing.  Also, please encourage youngsters to participate in the singing.

Volunteers

We need volunteers for smooth organization of the event. We need help in setting up tables, prasad distribution, help orderly movement of the devotees and general cleanup. If you would like  to volunteer, please register at:

Hindu Temple-Bal Mandir Program 

 Hindu Temple, Ottawa is pleased to inform you that the “Bal Mandir Program” is on at the temple on Sundays from 11.45 am to 12.45pm.

Here are a couple of visuals and Hindu temple appreciates devotees initiating the activities for children at the temple.
