What are the temple darshan hours on Regular days, Festival Days, Weekends?

The temple remains open for all days with the same timings and the times are as follows:
Weekday and Canada holidays:Devotees Darshana Timings:
   8.30 AM-10.30 PM and 5.30 PM-8.30 PM
Weekends and Hindu Festival days:- Devotees Darshana Timings:
   8.30 am to 8.30 pm.
Daily Aarti:
   10 am and 8 pm

What services does the Hindu Temple provide?

How Do I make a Booking at the Temple for a particular service?

Temple provides various options(e-Pooja/At Home/At the temple) for serving your needs.

* Simply call the Manager at 613-822-1531 or visit the temple to book and firm up the date for your event.
There are various ways to make payment.
*In person at the temple via cheque
* Make On-Line payment (suggested donation) -

How do I Donate money to the Temple?

General Donation: Hindu Temple Ottawa deeply appreciates your kind and generous support.
All donations are tax-deductible.
Donations can be via e-Transfer or Credit card or Cheque as below
e-Transfer : to treasurer@hindutemple.ca
To Donate using a credit card, click on the Donate Now button on our website and follow the instructions.
To Donate via Cheque : Send the cheque payable to HINDU TEMPLE OF OTTAWA-CARLETON.

I have made the online seva payment, but it shows PENDING PAYMENT. What should I do ?

The Seva Request is manually authorized post-checking payment receipts from the bank/email confirmation from the bank. Not to worry, you will get a confirmation email from the temple side. If still not received, Kindly call us by providing Order No or Reference No.

When will I get an Income Tax receipt for my donation?

Upon making the donation, we will send the receipt to your email or regular mail as you prefer. Kindly share the same with us.

Does the Temple allow donations for a specific project/cause (e.g., name recognition for various purposes?

Temple has only one Fund and all donors are identified as per various categories/projects specified.

During Covid, does the Temple allow regular congregations and services?

In an unprecedented time like now, we take all precautions as advised by Health Canada from time to time. Accordingly, we ensure to follow all the guidelines. Kindly call the temple for the latest information on congregations and services.

Does the Temple allow a visit to the Temple and participation in Temple activities & events by a person of non-Hindu faith?

Yes.

Does the Temple encourage Visitors to the Temple for Religious & Spiritual Talks and Lectures?

Yes.

Does the Temple provide educational awareness for students, and others of non-Hindu faith?

Yes.

I would like to become a volunteer or would like to do some volunteer work whenever I am available. what is the procedure for registration?

Volunteers and Devotees are big part of the Temple family. There are various ways you can volunteer all year around. . For your conveyance options listed to signup include time, day, festivals, and other occasions. Link to Volunteer Signup.

What are the Guidelines for Temple Usage/Marriage Ceremony/?

Does Temple allow Prasad to cook?

Currently, we do not allow Prasad to cook. However, if the devotee wishes to cook at their home, kindly call us for various guidelines that may be prevalent at the time to make informed decisions.

What are Temple festivals and Celebrations?

This information is regularly updated on our website under Events and Festivals. Sign up to subscribe to temple news and information to get regular updates in advance.

Does temple allow Firecrackers on Diwali and other Hindu Festivals?

Temple offers Sparklers to Children that can be celebrated outside of the temple.
We do not encourage anyone to bring their own firecrackers to burst outside the temple as this requires proper monitoring and license from the Government.
We send out emails/news letter as well on our website well before the event so that Devotees are aware.

Does temple has parking space? and also Wheelchair access?

Yes. We have lot of parking space and also a ramp for Wheelchair access.
At the temple sanctum inside, for the utmost needy we have elevator to take them to the Mahamandap. If so, kindly contact the Manager who will be glad to assist you.

 Hindu Temple, Ottawa is pleased to inform you that the “Bal Mandir Program” is on at the temple on Sundays from 11.45 am to 12.45pm.

Here are a couple of visuals and Hindu temple appreciates devotees initiating the activities for children at the temple.
