Here are some key points about this heartwarming occasion: \n\nDate and Timing:\n\nRaksha Bandhan is observed on the full moon day (Purnima) during the Hindu month of Shravana (which typically falls in July or August).\nIn 2024\, Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on August 19 1.\n\n\nRituals and Symbolism:\n\nOn this day\, sisters of all ages tie a threaded amulet called a rakhi around their brothers’ wrists.\nThe rakhi symbolizes protection\, love\, and care.\nBrothers\, in return\, give gifts to their sisters and take on a share of the responsibility for their well-being 2.\n\n\nHistorical Context:\n\nRaksha Bandhan has its roots in the practice of territorial exogamy.\nWhen a woman marries outside her natal village or town\, her parents do not visit her in her married home.\nThe festival allows married women to reconnect with their families and honor their brothers 3.\n\n\n\nMay Raksha Bandhan strengthen the bonds of love and protection among siblings! \n  \ncourtesy: CoPilot
