Here are some key details about this auspicious occasion: \n\nDate and Timing:\n\nKrishna Janmashtami falls on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the dark fortnight (Krishna Paksha) in the Hindu month of Shravana (according to the amanta tradition) or Bhadrapada (according to the purnimanta tradition).\nThis corresponds to August or September in the Gregorian calendar 1.\n\n\nSignificance and Customs:\n\nDevotees celebrate by:\n\nParticipating in puja (worship) and reading religious texts.\nEnacting dance-dramas depicting Krishna’s life from the Bhagavata Purana.\nFasting (upavasa) and singing devotional songs until midnight (the time of Krishna’s birth).\n\n\nThe festival is especially significant in the Vaishnavism tradition of Hinduism 2.\n\n\nLegend and Birthplace:\n\nKrishna was born to Devaki and Vasudeva in a prison in Mathura\, India.\nHis birth was during a time of persecution\, and he was the eighth child of Devaki.\nKrishna’s life story is recorded in the Mahabharata\, Puranas\, and Bhagavata Purana 1.\n\n\nMessage of Dharma and Love:\n\nKrishna’s birth symbolizes spreading the message of dharma\, love\, and oneness on Earth 3.\n\n\n\nMay Krishna’s divine presence bring joy and blessings to all! \n  \nCourtesy : CoPilot \n  \nWe need help every Monday for the next few weeks\, especially on Aug 26th which also happens to be Shri Krishna Janmashtami.
